2 November 2014 - October Ladies Krawl had a good turn out in pleasant weather apart from
the last few minutes when it bucketed down while we were getting changed in the car park! Having got to the
half-way pub The Rose & Crown early we ventured into the woods for a further 40 mins, finding
great views from the Pulpit in Perry Wood. We had what amounted to a private room at The White
Lion in Selling along with a very large and good value meal, ably washed down with copious amounts of
liquid. Quite a long drive but an enjoyable day.

Train back to Tenterden before being well feed and watered at Michael's. A third leg around the estate finished
off another very enjoyable day.

9 June 2014 - May Ladies Krawl in June! A lovely summers day, warm with little wind, mostly
flat on good paths, what more could you ask? Oh good food, good value, good company and good banter. We
set off only a couple of mins adrift, got to the half-way (the Fleur de Lis at Leigh) bang on
midday, left there promptly and arrived at The Plough in Hildenborough right on time. A
total of 8.6 miles past meadows, many lakes a views over Penshurst Place. Chris guided us out and back
without problems - the only hiccup was with Peter's private venture which, thanks to some friendly locals
all worked out in the end!

24 April 2014 - Our favourite pub. Due to so many new walks we had not been to the
Golding Hop for some time, and it is even longer since we dined there. Thirteen gathered at
this difficult to find venue and set off under Fred's guidance for a most enjoyable krawl thro apple
orchards and blue bell woods. We arrived at The Plough in Basted for a most welcome pint (or
two) and met two very friendly bar staff. 'We should use this place in the future' was
stated by more than one. Back to the Golding Hop and we were warmly welcomed by Sonja who
served us with enormous quantities of simple food; most opting for Gammon, chips & eggs. Great value!
Eddie was in his usual gruff state, refusing to serve bottles of wine... 'It's a pub not a bloody
restaurant...'
He did state that we had so many drinking 'lime & soda' that his stock was almost
empty!
Roger proposed Martin as a new member which was carried without dissent. Total distance
about 6 miles
Present: Fred (President), Phil, Mike, John, Dave W, Roger & Martin, Chris, Colin, Michael
& Howard, Jim, Dave C, Ken joined for lunch & Chris went to another function (13+1-1).
Apologies: Anthony, Harry, Dave A, Dennis, Ian A, Peter E, Dick & Rae (8)
27 March 2014 - Halstead to Knockholt. We all met up at the Rose and Crown,
Halstead to start our krawl. A damp but good, if shortish, walk took us to the Three
Horseshoes at Knockholt. Enjoyable and with wild life to view we returned to the Rose and
Crown, where Paul, the publican, served a very good rib of beef with so many different vegetables
that we lost count.
Present: Roger (President) & son Martin, Mike, Dave C, Dave W, Colin, Phil, Fred, Jim, Chris
& Peter E joined for lunch (9+2).
Apologies: Anthony, Ken, John, Ian A, Dave A, Dick, Michael & Peter W (8)
27 February 2014 - The Krawl around Shipbourne was, as expected, very muddy. After the
wettest winter on record 10 hardy souls slipped and slithered their way under the expert guidance of Phil.
A most enjoyable krawl of 7 miles in total, took us on some unfamiliar footpaths. Four joined us for a
very hearty lunch at The Chaser Inn. Half way had been at the White Rock Inn,
Underriver. Harry, having been unavailable for the last couple of krawls, was at last presented with his
badge.
Present: Phil (President), BN, Jim and his son-in-law, Steve, Fred, Dave W, Roger, Harry, Chris,
Dave C. John, Dick, Ken and Peter joined for lunch (10+4). Colin & Ponti should have attend, but both went
down with a bug.
Apologies: Rae, Apples, Brian, Ian A, Michael T, Bonzo and Peter W (7)
30 January 2014 - A Krawl around Keston was organised by Roger at short notice, a good
turn out of 13 (10 Krawling) enjoy a good meal, yet again, at The King's Arms. The day started with
some trepidation as the weather for the previous few days had been rain and more rain. Undeterred the properly
clad adventures set off and with a slip and slide made it to The Fox for a well earned pint or
two. This first stage of just a tad under 5 miles was completed in two hours, the final leg of almost two miles
took a further 60 minutes. Whilst it drizzled during our stroll it didn't bucket down, resulting in another
good day in our history which now reaches 103 years.
Present: Roger (President) and his son Martin, BN, Fred, Dave C, Chris, Ian A, John, Phil, Jim -
Dick, Peter E & Ken joined for lunch (13).
Apologies: Dave W, Ponti, Denis, Harry, Michael T, Rae, Colin, Brian, Dave A, Bonzo & Peter W
(11).
